A Crown and A Veneer Restore a Broken Smile

A Crown and A Veneer Restore a Broken Smile

This charming young lady was on vacation with friends when an unethical man slipped a drug into her cocktail. After leaving the club the young lady collapsed falling smack dab on her front teeth. Hopefully one day that man will be caught and made to pay for his irresponsibility, but in the meantime the girl cannot smile in public. The broken teeth have created a crisis on many levels, and I was able to restore the physical appearance of her smile using a porcelain crown and a veneer. The veneer was very conservative because it requires the removal of only a slight amount of tooth structure. The second front tooth was too damaged to be restored with only a veneer, and a crown was required which involves the removal of significantly more tooth structure. Matching the color to each other and to the surrounding teeth can be quite challenging because porcelain is applied over very different bases. Fortunately I use a master technician who understands how to handle his materials to compensate for the physical differences and get excellent aesthetic results. Now the young lady can smile once again in public and deal with the psychological issues of her experience.
